Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Means (SVMCM) Scholarship Scheme has been introduced and funded by the government of West Bengal.
With this scholarship, meritorious students can complete higher studies in various institutions in West Bengal.
Students of Class XI and XII, Undergraduate level students in Engineering, Medical, and Technical / Professional courses along with Under Graduate, Post Graduate level students pursuing General Degree courses all benefited under this scheme.
Eligibility of Swami Vivekananda (Bikash Bhavan) scholarship
You need to fulfill the following criteria for applying for Swami Vivekananda Scholarship:
- The student must be a permanent resident of West Bengal.
- The students must pass the last examination from the West Bengal board, council, or any university of West Bengal.
- The students will also have to currently study in any institution in West Bengal.
- Students who will apply for the HS level examination must have 60% marks in class X.
- Those who will apply for the UG level will have to score 60% marks in the HS level.
- Those who will apply for postgraduate courses will have to score 55% marks in UG level.
- The annual income of the family must not exceed Rs. 250000 per year. The candidate’s family earning more than this amount is not eligible for the scholarship.

The selection of the students for the scholarship is done on the basis of marks scored in the last exam and after that on the basis of family income.
